We look forward to welcoming you to Saltpot Cottage! To make sure our little piece of paradise is right for your time away, please take the time to look through the following terms and conditions.
House Rules
Children
We welcome children of all ages to Saltpot Cottage. We are happy to provide a cotbed and require notification of this. We ask you do not use felt-tips or stickers in the cottage. All children must be supervised at all times for their safety. Bedroom 2 is not suitable for under 2's or those that do not yet sleep in their own bed. This is due to the fire exits mentioned below. We have an upstairs safety gate - please can you let us know by prior arrangement if you need this as its not in situ all the time. The bottom of the steps does not have a gate.
Pets
We allow up to two small/medium very well behaved dogs. There are blankets for the sofa downstairs - please do not have your dogs on the furniture if they are wet and we kindle ask you do not allow them to sleep on any of the beds.
Smoking
We are a strictly non-smoking establishment.
Fire Exits
There are very low windows upstairs that are also fire exits and have safety catches on so they don’t fully open but need to remain unlocked. This is for your safety. To exit in the case of a fire - pushing the windows will break the safety catch and enable escape. There are safety lights in each room or the cottage and landing to enable your safety and some can be used as torches ( remove from their holder). Please do not turn them off.
Damage
We understand accidents happen. However, please be mindful of the following:
- No hot pans/dishes or chopping/prepping of food directly on the kitchen worktops- please use to worktop savers provided & chopping boards
- Costs of excessive breakages/damages/missing items/repairs must be paid in full by guests (the odd cup/glass is excluded).
- Doors must be locked overnight & when unoccupied
- Close all windows & skylights before going out/retiring for bed - Should the skylights be left open when it’s raining and any damage to the property or inside, compensation for damage will be charged (there are laminated signs in the rooms up stairs to remind guests to close).
- Keys must be returned to the key safe before departure- you will be charged for replacement locks if failure to do so
The Garage
The garage attached to the property has personal items stored in there, including a motorcycle. May we please ask these are not used or the motorcycle touched (it is kept covered up therefore do not uncover) we also need access to these items on occasion, which includes sometimes using the dryer. Please do not use the dryer with the garage door shut or leave the dryer on and go out or go to bed at night with them on- this is a fire risk. If using the dryer, place the trunk outside the garage door so the steam can escape- please make sure you lock the garage door afterwards. Also please remove the lint in between drying items.
Check in/Check Out
Check in is from 3pm on the day of arrival, and check out is by no later than 10am on the day of scheduled departure. We would like you to enjoy yourselves during your stay at Saltpot Cottage but would kindly ask to keep the home tidy and leave how originally found. If requesting earlier check in/out this is by prior contact and can only be possible if no crossover. Please wash all crockery/pans/glasses etc & put away before check out, and place rubbish in the outdoor bins before leaving - located at the top of the driveway which are the four bins together labelled saltpot cottage/wheelehouse. Please place used towels in the basket provided in master bedroom on day of departure or in the bath ~ The bathroom floors can be slippery when water is spilt on them- please use the bath mats provided and also be mindful to take care when you do. There is also a non-slip mat for you to use when in the shower.
Cancellation Policy
Full refund for cancellations up to 70 days before check-in. If booked fewer than 70 days before check-in, full refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of booking and at least 30 days before check-in. After that, 50% refund before check-in and no refund 14 days or less before check in. Please ensure you are fully insured for all your travel should your circumstances prevent you fulfilling your booking.
